Position OverviewThis is a part-time, onsite 1099 contractor position, working 2–3 consistent weekdays per week in our Hyattsville clinic. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Core Responsibilities- Provide wellness visits, chronic disease management, and health assessments via secure telehealth platform
- Order labs, prescribe medications, and provide patient education remotely
- Review patient records, update care plans, and coordinate virtual follow-up
- Accurately document all visits in Athena One EMR, ensuring compliance with billing and medical necessity standards
- Collaborate with our in-house primary care, behavioral health, and nutrition teams for integrated patient care
- Participate in provider team meetings, patient outreach, and care planning
- Master’s Degree in Nursing and current Nurse Practitioner license (FNP or ANP) in Maryland
- Active DEA and CDS license
- ANCC or AANP certification
- Minimum 3 year experience in outpatient primary care or internal medicine
- Comfortable with telehealth platforms
- Proficiency with EMRs (eg. Epic, Athena One preferred)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience working with high-risk, underserved, or medically complex populations
- Familiarity with Maryland’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (CRISP)
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT coding, and evidence-based care documentation
Contract clinicians demonstrating strong performance and cultural alignment will be given first consideration for transition into benefited W-2 positions as they become available.
