Senior Diesel Mechanic

Monday – Friday each week, with possible rotating Saturday shifts. Start time approximately 2 pm.
Location:
Repair/maintenance shop at the Hyattsville, MD hauling site.
Each day, you’ll repair trucks and equipment servicing over 20 million customers across the U.S. Key duties include:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
- Estimating time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts
- Performing work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
- Responding to service calls for emergency breakdowns
- Conducting safety checks on vehicles to protect employees and the community
- Completing required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Assisting senior mechanics in project work
- Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Age 18 or older
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Required to exert frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing. Exposed to cuts, burns, and potential toxic chemicals. Work occurs in both indoor garage/shop and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
