CDL Truck Driver (Union) - Hyattsville , Maryland

• Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck to transport and deliver goods in packaged form
• Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered, and collect payment for services when required
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
• Communicate with customers and sales in regards to delivery
• Follow appropriate safety procedures
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations
• Other related duties as needed

1-2 years of previous experience preferred

Experience with operating machinery, including forklift, pallet jacket, etc. preferred

• Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record
• Require use of automated/manual equipment
• English language skills (speaking, reading, writing)
• Time management
• Proven record of maintaining high accuracy under tight deadlines
• Lifting/carrying up to about 50 lbs (sacks of rice)
• Pushing/pulling over 80 - 100 lbs.
• Knowledge of DOT and CDL Regulations
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Strong attention to detail and highly accurate
• Dependable work ethic
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, weekends and holidays

$ 28.50 per hour
