Overview

Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy; we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, engineering, and construction.

As the Construction Project Coordinator, you will support one or more subcontracts, working with the Contract lead (Construction Project Manager) and team in subcontract management. You will interface with design and procurement but focus on the overview of the Subcontractor and the immediate construction of the project, as well as controls and other duties as assigned. This position is contractor facing with emphasis on Schedule, Cost, Scope, and Safety for the Spent Fuel Handling Project near the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Lab.

The Construction Project Coordinator will interact with all Construction Project Managers and coordinate with client and subcontractor staff and/or consultants in performing day-to-day duties.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the review and approval process for contractor submittals and change orders; coordinate with the procurement group and Construction Project Manager for the creation of onsite change documents.
  • Attend assigned meetings to cover weekly job progress meetings and record meeting minutes.
  • Review status and monitor variances of the submittal process, tracking subcontract submittals, requests for information, non-conformances, etc.
  • Provide timely reporting of project metrics and maintain project submittal and other pertinent logs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills as this position is client-facing.
  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One or more years of work experience.
  • Some experience on similar Department of Energy and/or large construction projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices; ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance.
  • Working knowledge of computer software for processing submittals, including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Ability to maintain continuous communication with the Contract Manager, Project Controls Manager, senior engineers, and client personnel.
  • Willingness to walk long distances over potentially rough terrain in all weather conditions; ability to climb stairs and ladders to inspect work.
  • Exposure to weather elements while in the field is expected.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills.
  • USA citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations).
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Experience with PROLOG Software system (or similar).
  • NQA-1 understanding/experience.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training.
  • Residence within commutable distance from the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Lab area is preferred.
Essential Functions

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs; longest distance carried 50 feet. Hand manipulation for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Use of right and/or left hands. May need to reach and/or work above or below shoulder level. Must be alert to field equipment, occasional travel, work near construction equipment, exposure to hazardous equipment and machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas or fumes, noise, extreme temperatures or humidity, and working at heights.
