Role Description
This full-time, on-site Experienced Remodel Estimator role is based in Idaho Falls, Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and client requirements to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for high-end residential and commercial remodel projects. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include performing site visits, conducting quantity takeoffs, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor bids, and building comprehensive estimates and proposals. The role will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and the leadership team to refine scopes, value engineer solutions, and maintain budgets throughout preconstruction.
The Estimator will also maintain pricing databases, update cost assumptions based on current market conditions, and support client meetings by explaining estimate details and answering scope or cost‑related questions.
- Strong estimating and preconstruction skills, including reading blueprints, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing detailed remodel cost estimates.
- Experience with residential and commercial remodeling, including kitchens, baths, additions, whole‑house renovations, and tenant improvements.
- Proficiency with construction estimating software, spreadsheet tools, and basic project management platforms.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, materials, and trade sequencing relevant to high‑end remodel work.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, project managers, designers, and trade partners.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Previous experience as an estimator or in a related construction role; luxury or custom remodeling experience is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, trade school, or a degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform on‑site visits in the regional service area.
