Overview
Knife River is looking for hardworking Laborers to work on projects in Southern Idaho. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing construction sites, unloading and loading materials, reading plans and specifications, tending machines, and assisting foremen and other construction site workers.
Responsibilities- Assist with manual operations at heavy highway construction sites.
- Participate in demolitions.
- Work with underground utilities.
- Remove trees and debris.
- Read blueprints and designs.
- Control traffic.
- Clear and prepare highway work zones.
- Dig trenches.
- Install sewer, water, and storm drain pipes.
- Pour concrete and/or asphalt onto roads.
- Operate tools and machines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
We would prefer candidates have a minimum of 1‑2 years' experience working as a laborer in the heavy highway field, but we are willing to train the right person.
Successful candidates must be hardworking, dependable, and able to perform manual labor for approximately 90% of their work shift.
General construction laborers must have physical strength, hand‑eye coordination, and endurance. They must also be able to concentrate on their tasks and have the ability to understand and communicate information effectively.
