We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Utility Foreperson to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility systems, including water, storm, and sanitary sewer infrastructure. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for directing field crews, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and supervise utility crews to ensure safe, productive, and efficient operations.
  • Plan, organize, and manage daily work activities to achieve project schedules and production goals.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and resources with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project personnel.
  • Oversee the installation of underground water, storm, and sewer systems in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Read, interpret, and execute construction plans, specifications, grades, and utility drawings.
  • Monitor project progress and inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining productivity and project timelines.
  • Track labor hours, production quantities, materials, and daily work activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and job sites are properly maintained and operated safely.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional development among crew members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, industry certifications, or related coursework preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in utility construction with extensive knowledge of water, storm, and sewer infrastructure.
  • Previous Foreperson, Crew Leader, or similar supervisory experience required.
  • Strong understanding of underground utility installation methods, trenching, excavation, and safety requirements.
  • Experience coordinating crews, equipment, and materials on active construction projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of utility construction practices, equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and team‑building skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop field personnel.
Work Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform other physical job duties as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel to project locations as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
