Position SummaryThe BEA Applied STEM Institute at College of Eastern Idaho is seeking an engaging, creative, and student‑centered Part‑Time Instructor for the Math Momentum program, to inspire students through meaningful mathematics experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and competence. The successful candidate will facilitate weekly instructional sessions, develop dynamic lessons and learning activities, and integrate applied, project‑based approaches that connect mathematical concepts to real‑world applications.
We are seeking an educator with experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level, who believes in the potential of every learner and is passionate about helping students develop mathematical confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset. The ideal candidate understands that success in math begins with helping students see themselves as capable problem‑solvers and lifelong learners.
This position reports to the Director of the BEA Applied STEM Institute and as directed, will collaborate with College of Eastern Idaho faculty and staff, community partners, and secondary education stakeholders to support program goals and student success.
Math Momentum is a weekly, after‑school math coaching program designed to help students strengthen mathematical skills while developing the confidence and mindset needed to succeed in future coursework, careers, and life. Through creative instruction and real‑world applications, the instructor will help students discover that mathematics is not just a school subject, but a valuable tool for solving problems, exploring opportunities, and understanding the world around them.

Work Schedule- Classroom Instruction:
Mondays, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Planning and Preparation:
Flexible scheduling (approximately 8-12 hours per week) - Total Time Commitment:
Approximately 13-17 hours per week
This is a grant‑funded position and is contingent upon available funding.
Duties and Responsibilities- Facilitate approximately 5 hours of Math Momentum instruction per week.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with program objectives.
- Incorporate project‑based and applied learning experiences that connect mathematics to real‑world challenges and STEM careers.
- Create hands‑on activities that foster critical thinking, problem‑solving, collaboration, and creativity.
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying levels of mathematical readiness.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback that promotes growth and engagement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials, projects, and assessments.
- Maintain attendance records and other required program documentation.
