- Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site and hub activities
- Work on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and parts replacement to correct malfunctions
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
- Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
- Observe all safety requirements
- Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
- Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures
- Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary
- Travel locally within the Idaho 1 hub
- Work at all wind sites within Idaho 1 and report to assigned sites as directed by the manager
- Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to execute contract requirements and timelines
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience
- Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license that must be maintained
- Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs. and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
- Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs. including required gear
- Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations
- Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call per site needs
- Ability to work occasional overnights as required by hub needs
- Ability to obtain authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
Demonstrates expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in wind turbine generators, with a strong focus on safety and compliance. Capable of executing contractual obligations and effectively communicating with site management while working independently.
