Estimator​/Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive project cost estimates by combining prior experience, historical data, and project specifications. This role determines the materials, equipment, and labor required to successfully complete projects and develops detailed budgets for management review.

This position ensures all estimates and project plans comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The Estimator–Project Manager also supports the Estimating Manager in coordinating Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Federal Highway, and municipal projects.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing historical cost data, and collaborating with field personnel.
• Maintain organized documentation supporting all estimate calculations, including up-to-date pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Develop reports, bid packages, and project summaries; clearly communicate project scope and expectations to field teams for awarded contracts.
• Review design alternatives and recommend cost-effective, high-quality solutions based on materials and project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and all OSHA/MSHA safety regulations; report issues to leadership as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision within area of expertise.
• Estimate projects ranging from $1M to $25M independently.
• Lead estimating efforts for projects exceeding $25M in collaboration with a team.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• 3–7 years of heavy civil construction experience, including DOT, Federal Highway, and municipal projects.
• 3–7 years of construction estimating experience.
• 3–7 years of construction/project management experience.

• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., B2W), takeoff tools, and spreadsheets.
• Experience working with CADD files.
• Strong understanding of estimating and bidding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
