The Idaho Nuclear Technology and Engineering Center (INTEC) is critical to the DOE EM mission, focusing on safe management of legacy materials and supporting long‑term disposition efforts. System Engineering oversees upcoming calcine disposition tasks, upholds design requirements and nuclear safety standards, and delivers engineering support for ongoing operations.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Structures, Systems, and Components (SSCs) on the Calcine Disposition Project.
- Ensure secure handling, treatment, and packaging of calcine material for eventual long‑term storage.
- Participate in projects to create, implement, and sustain systems and processes for retrieving, processing, and preparing calcine for final disposal.
- Create and maintain accurate technical information across all documents such as drawings, records, and operating procedures for assigned projects and systems.
- Serve as the Technical Authority, accountable for system design specifications, performance standards, operation, testing, and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (nuclear, mechanical, chemical, electrical) or science.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; nuclear facility experience desirable.
- Salary Grade 15:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years experience. - Salary Grade 18:
Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years experience. - Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the degree.
