Position Overview

Multi-Level Environmental Engineer – Works at the Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC) supporting the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP).

Location:

Site/AMWTP. Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4x10s.

Salary Grade 15: $77,635 – $120,755. Salary Grade 18: $111,520 – $174,365.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide environmental regulatory technical support for the Idaho Environmental Coalition Environmental Project Support Organization.
  • Assist with compliance for state of Idaho and federal environmental regulations (RCRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, TSCA, NEPA, etc.).
  • Identify regulatory requirements, evaluate and resolve environmental regulatory issues, review work control documentation, and implement environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate with project, facility, Environmental Services management, Legal, DOE, and regulatory agencies on complex regulatory issues.
  • Perform assessments to support environmental compliance assurance for the Environmental Services and Strategic Initiatives Organization and other implementation activities.
  • Perform regulatory inspections and compliance field activities and collect compliance samples (waste, wastewater, groundwater, air, etc.).
  • Support other areas as needed in technical reviews and implementation of additional environmental regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Grade 15 – Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience.
  • Grade 18 – Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of experience.
Special Requirements / Training (Optional)
  • OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER
  • DOE Radiological Worker
Citizenship

U.S. citizenship is required as the position is at the Idaho National Laboratory, a federal facility involved in national security work.

Selective Service Requirements

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service System (SSS).
