Short Summary about Job

Provide technical support to the Calcine Disposition Project (CDP) at the DOE Idaho Site by applying scientific principles, theories, and concepts to achieve Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) mission objectives. Support development and production of primary and secondary technical documents required under NEPA, RCRA, and CERCLA, as well as DOE orders and standards (DOE O 435.1). Interact and collaborate with project management and technical staff to address DOE and Agency comments on project documents, develop and publish technical documents (e.g., engineering design files, annual reports, conceptual site models), and contribute to project scope, schedule, and budget development.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree plus 5 years of relevant experience applying scientific and engineering principles to site characterization and remediation (e.g., dose and risk assessments, multi-media transport modeling, radiological analysis, and disposal site performance assessments).
  • Experience related to facility design, construction, and/or closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and publish technical documents (e.g., engineering design files, annual reports, conceptual site models) by evaluating data and summarizing results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project management, technical staff, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Ability to pass a preliminary background check and comply with DOE/INL site access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience producing analyses and preparing documentation required under DOE O 435.1, RCRA, and CERCLA.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple support organizations, both internal and external, as well as with DOE and various stakeholders (Idaho DEQ, U.S. EPA, Tribal Nation, and the public).
  • Experience or familiarity with developing project documentation required under DOE standards, specifically DOE O 413.3B.
  • Experience working at a DOE facility and familiarity with DOE orders and requirements.
