Summary

Hukari Ascendent is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Calcine Disposition Project. This individual will help plan project scope, organize resources, and execute work associated with the design, modification, and operation of a test and processing facility. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing project plans, budgets, and schedules; coordinating with contractors, engineers, and support organizations to keep project objectives aligned; identifying and managing technical risks;

monitoring progress against schedule and budget; and communicating project status to ICP and DOE management and stakeholders through reports and presentations. The role also involves developing project-specific documentation, troubleshooting issues that affect project success, and maintaining organized project records. This position requires routine field work at the DOE Idaho Site and regular interaction with management, support organizations, and outside stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience in scientific and engineering principles associated with technology development, DOE facility design and construction, and/or facility closure. Experience working at a DOE facility and familiarity with DOE orders and standards, specifically DOE O 413.3B, DOE-STD-, DOE-STD-1073, and DOE-STD-, is preferred. Candidates should have experience interfacing with multiple internal and external support organizations as well as with DOE and various stakeholders, including Idaho DEQ, the U.S. EPA, Tribal Nations, and the public.

Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are required, including the ability to write technical and project documentation and to manage simultaneous duties and priorities with limited direction and supervision. Ability to work effectively to short deadlines with rapidly changing priorities is essential.
