About the role

The Maintenance and Planning Manager establishes and leads the maintenance, work planning, scheduling, and craft-execution function supporting CTR, Aalo-0, and Aalo-X. The Manager builds a disciplined work-management system that protects plant configuration, equipment reliability, personnel safety, and operating readiness while supporting the pace required for construction turnover, commissioning, startup, and sustained operation. This is an opportunity to be a major factor in the success of the company and be a major contributor to building an organization leading to commercial fleet operations.

Expectations are lead by example, have a presence in the field, and most importantly value your team.

What you'll do
  • Build and lead maintenance, planning, scheduling, and assigned craft capabilities for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and facility work.
  • Establish an integrated work-management process covering work identification, screening, priority, planning, parts and tools, permits, tagging/clearance, scheduling, execution, testing, closeout, and post-work review. Elements should reflect the ISMS process used by DOE.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies based on safety significance, equipment function, vendor recommendations, operating experience, and reliability risk.
  • Ensure work packages contain clear scope, prerequisites, hazards and controls, approved procedures, parts, special tools, hold points, acceptance criteria, and post-maintenance testing.
  • Coordinate daily and outage schedules with Operations, Engineering, Nuclear Safety, ES&H, Radiation Protection, Supply Chain, Quality, commissioning, and project leadership.
  • Protect configuration control by ensuring field conditions, drawings, procedures, bills of material, temporary modifications, and equipment status remain aligned.
  • Establish maintenance backlog, schedule-compliance, rework, equipment-reliability, preventive-maintenance, and work-quality indicators and act on adverse trends.
  • Develop qualified planners, supervisors, technicians, and crafts; ensure personnel are trained, authorized, fit for duty, and assigned within demonstrated capability.
  • Ensure emergent work is stabilized, risk-assessed, authorized, documented, and incorporated into the controlled schedule.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when scope, configuration, procedures, parts, qualifications, permits, or risk controls are inadequate.
Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible nuclear maintenance, work management, commissioning, or plant-support experience.
  • Five or more years supervising maintenance, planning, scheduling, or multidisciplinary craft execution in a commercial nuclear plant, DOE nuclear facility, or comparable high-hazard industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear work control, tagging/clearance, configuration management, preventive maintenance, post-maintenance testing, corrective action, and equipment reliability.
  • Experience developing work packages and integrated schedules for operating facilities, outages, construction turnover, commissioning, or startup.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage backlogs, priorities, resources, parts, vendor support, and emergent work without bypassing readiness prerequisites.
  • Experience with CMMS/work-management systems and performance indicators required.
  • Commercial nuclear experience and sodium-system, advanced-reactor, first-of-a-kind, or startup experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance technology, construction management, business, or a related field preferred; substantial directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Requirements
  • Based in the United States
  • Willing to work on-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho
  • Able to work in construction, industrial, radiological, and sodium-system environments and wear required PPE
  • Available for outages, critical testing, emergent work, and facility call-in support
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary
  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Corporate Gym Membership
