Position: IMAGING - DUAL MODALITY CT/X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST

Overview

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a NIGHT Dual Modality CT/X-Ray Technologist to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: The CT/XR Technologist is responsible for the daily organization of activities in the CT and Radiology department. Performs CT/XR exams and produces high quality images for the Radiologist to interpret and to aid the physician in diagnosing the patient.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of CT and diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with established policies and protocols, including enhanced and non-enhanced studies of the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and extremities.
  • Conducts thorough patient screening and assessment prior to imaging and contrast administration, including review of medical history, physical condition, age-specific considerations, and required pre-contrast laboratory evaluation as indicated.
  • Demonstrates competency in IV placement and assists the Radiologist in the administration of contrast materials and medications for imaging procedures; administers intravenous contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist in accordance with policy.
  • Positions patients appropriately and adapts imaging techniques to patient condition and clinical presentation to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operates and adjusts complex imaging equipment, including CT scanners, fixed and portable X-ray units, and C-arms in surgical settings; performs imaging in inpatient units, emergency department, operating rooms, and other clinical areas as required.
  • Safely transports, pushes, positions, and manipulates C-arm and portable X-ray equipment throughout the hospital environment to support imaging procedures.
  • Sets, adjusts and controls a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. Operates portable machines on patient floors, emergency department, and units; and in the operating room. Operates C-Arms in surgical environment.
  • Performs advanced post-processing and image reconstruction for diagnostic evaluation.
  • Evaluates technical quality of images prior to radiologist interpretation and performs repeat imaging when necessary.
  • Accurately documents patient information, procedural details, contrast administration, and medications in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree from an approved college or university. Must hold or obtain current licensure as an RT(R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Also, obtain current licensure as an RT (CT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent within 6 months of hire. Must hold or obtain current BLS.

Experience: Previous radiology experience preferred;
