Madison Fire Department provides EMS, fire, and rescue services throughout Madison County, including Rexburg and Sugar City, and serves the Brigham Young University-Idaho community in Rexburg. The department operates a Critical Care ambulance service and provides assistance to surrounding counties in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. MFD also maintains a robust wildland fire program, deploying fire and EMS apparatus and personnel throughout the United States during wildland fire season.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must meet the following requirements or the stated post-hire completion timeline:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Pass required drug test, background checks, and physical tests
- Valid Driver's License
- NREMT certification as Paramedic or EMT
- For Paramedic applicants: ACLS, PALS, and AHA HCP BLS CPR certification
- Firefighter II accredited by IFSAC or equivalent
- Hazardous Materials Operations accredited by IFSAC or equivalent
- NWCG FFT1 (Advanced Wildland Firefighter)
- Driver/Operator accredited by IFSAC or equivalent within 1 year of hire
- ICS 300 & 400
- Leadership I, II, III
- Three years with comparable career agency
- Must live within a 20-minute drive time of one of the department's three stations; a period of time will be provided for relocation
