Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides training and technical assistance to employers to support the employment of individuals with disabilities, including increasing employer disability awareness and etiquette, and understanding of the requirements under the ADA and other employment related law
  • Supports businesses to recruit, hire, and retain individuals with disabilities as part of their workforce
  • Assists internal team members to identify participants who can meet employer needs
  • Develops and delivers relevant presentations and training materials to meet the needs of businesses
  • Provides Business Services support across IDVR, offering guidance, resources, and problem‑solving assistance to team members, businesses, general participants, and Pre‑ETS participants
  • Assists participants, and internal and external stakeholders in understanding local labor market trends, employer needs, and industry demands
  • Engages with workforce partners to coordinate unified Business Services efforts
  • Supports business outreach strategies through labor market consultation, training coordination, and development and delivery of customized employer services
  • Supports the development of and participates in authorized activities/events focused on improving systems within the State of Idaho related to students with disabilities
  • Provides training and education to employers regarding the benefits of accessing untapped talent by recruiting and hiring individuals with disabilities
  • Motivates employers to recognize the benefit to their business of work-based learning experiences (including internships, short-term employment, apprenticeships, customized training, on‑the‑job training, and fellowships) to upskill their talent pool
  • Identifies, promotes, and coordinates opportunities for students with disabilities receiving Pre-Employment Transition Services in accordance with requirements under federal law
  • Provides employers with consultation and support to recruit qualified applicants and train employees who are individuals with disabilities
  • Offers and relays technical expertise regarding disability-related obstacles, including understanding and implementation of reasonable accommodations to retain and advance incumbent employees who are individuals with disabilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cross-functional working relationships that result in positive, measurable outcomes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills , including experience delivering presentations and speaking to diverse audiences
  • Some knowledge of business practices and labor market information , individual differences in abilities, learning and motivation, and training
