Job SummaryThe Security Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair support, preventive maintenance, and operational support of existing Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), perimeter security devices, barriers, gates, and Security Management Systems (SMS).
The engineer will support system operations, annual maintenance activities, software updates, system backups, component inspections, repair recommendations, scheduled service activities, and onsite field support across multiple Idaho locations.
Roles and Responsibilities Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)- Perform maintenance and support activities for Physical Access Control Systems (PACS).
- Support and maintain access control panels/controllers, badge readers, door controllers, electronic locks, mechanical locks, hinges, request-to-exit devices, wiring, fiber optics, cabling, and associated infrastructure.
- Perform system inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and testing activities.
- Support PACS administrative functions and system operations.
- Perform repair and replacement support for defective components.

- Perform maintenance and support activities for Video Surveillance Systems (VSS).
- Support CCTV cameras, recording environments, monitoring systems, storage systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support VMS software operations and issue resolution.

- Perform maintenance and support activities for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Support alarm systems, motion detectors, door contacts, glass break sensors, perimeter sensors, barriers, gates, and Security Management Systems (SMS).
- Perform diagnostics, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities.
- Support low-voltage infrastructure and network-connected security devices.
- Troubleshoot PoE switches, fiber links, structured cabling, patch panels, UPS/power systems, and connectivity issues related to PACS/VSS devices.
- Support network communication between cameras, controllers, servers, and monitoring systems.
- Perform annual inspections of PACS, VSS, IDS equipment, and associated components.
- Conduct system testing and validation activities.
- Perform backup battery replacement activities.
- Support licensing activities.
- Perform system backups and restore support.
- Execute routine and preventive maintenance activities.
- Install firmware, patches, fixes, updates, and software maintenance releases.
- Identify defective components and recommend repair or replacement requirements.
- Support approved repair and replacement activities.
- Work closely with project representatives to address maintenance requirements.
- Scheduled Service Support – Response within 3 weeks
- Priority Service Support – Response within 1–5 business days
- Emergency Service Support – Response within 12–24 hours
- Remote and onsite support availability required
- Travel to customer locations may be required
- Experience supporting Physical Access Control Systems (PACS).
- Experience supporting Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Experience supporting AMAG Symmetry environments.
- Experience supporting Exacq Vision (Johnson Controls) environments.
- Experience supporting HID readers and access control devices.
- Experience supporting S2 Security access control platforms.
- Experience supporting low-voltage infrastructure, cabling, fiber connectivity, and PoE environments.
- Experience troubleshooting network-connected security systems and devices.
- Experience supporting inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities.
- Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with remote and onsite field support activities.
- Contractor shall be Symmetry / AMAG certified.
- Experience with Exacq Vision Johnson Controls systems is required.
- Contractor shall provide a Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP) resource when supporting FICAM compliant systems.
- CSEIP resource shall be available by phone or onsite support when required.
- Experience working in government or enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting integrated physical security systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in field support environments.
- Good communication and customer coordination skills.
- Ability to support emergency service requests when required.
