Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an AI Project Manager to work in our Scientific Computing and AI Program Integration department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off.
The AI Project Manager will lead high-impact projects that shape the future of energy, national security, and scientific innovation. Your work will directly contribute to INL's legacy as a leader in nuclear technology, cybersecurity, and grid modernization. By driving critical initiatives, you'll help ensure the U.S. maintains its edge in advanced research and infrastructure development. EssentialJob Functions and Responsibilities:
- Plan, document, execute, manage, and report on projects within the scientific computing and AI domain.
- Integrate and communicate with customers, partners, and managers of related projects.
- Determine appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
- Utilize project management techniques to assure technical, schedule, and budget baselines are controlled throughout each phase of a project. Participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews.
- Manage all projects in accordance with all BEA procedures and policies. Monitor project activities and resources to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with procurement, and interface with the customer, regarding General and Special Conditions; participate in subcontract amendment negotiations and obtain necessary corporate and customer approvals.
- Make improvements, solve problems, or take corrective action when problems arise.
- Identify project documentation requirements or procedures.
- Manage projects to ensure that they are completed on schedule, within budget, and that all work is performed in a safe manner.
- Review inter-organizational agreements and subcontract packages for completeness and conformity to project requirements.
- Perform project closeout activities including final cost report and project records closeout.
- Develop teams as appropriate to successfully complete projects.

- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

- Level 3:
Bachelor's degree in business management, project management or a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's or PhD in business management, project management, or a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of relevant experience. - Level 4:
Bachelor's degree in business management, project management or a related field from an accredited institution and 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's in business management, project management, or a related field from an accredited institution and 6 years of relevant experience; or a PhD in business management, project management, or a related field from an accredited institution and 4 years of relevant experience - Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- This position requires access to the Export Control Information system. All applicants must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident/Green Card holder.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate, Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification, or other equivalent certification.
- The pay for this position is Level 3: ($95,256 - $195,288)/Level 4:($114,360 - $234,336) . At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
