Job Description
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Director of Facilities and Site Services (F&SS) Maintenance to lead strategic oversight of INL's real‑property assets. The role oversees major utility systems across 890 square miles, ensuring infrastructure is safe, reliable, compliant, and aligned with long‑term mission needs. The Director implements INL’s performance‑based asset management program, ensures excellence in maintenance execution, manages risk, and partners broadly with INL organizations, DOE Idaho, and external entities.
Schedule:
4x10 with every Friday off; occasional Friday or weekend work may be required.
- Manage activities through second or third level managers; supervise professional employees and subordinate managers from multiple disciplines.
- May manage a complex program, regardless of size, that has a critical impact on the directorate or laboratory.
- Accountable for division budget; ensure budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
- Responsible for multiple functions, organizations, locations, departments, and/or technical disciplines.
- Participate in development of overall objectives and long‑term goals of the division and the directorate.
- Establish and administer operational objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans; delegate assignments to subordinates.
- Develop, modify, and execute company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company‑wide effect.
- Interact regularly with lower and/or senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, department, and/or customers.
- Apply knowledge to convince other stakeholders on desired departmental outcomes.
- Accountable to the F&SS Director for strategic direction and operational management of assigned assets.
- Provide leadership and strategic management for facilities maintenance across INL’s utility, facility, and infrastructure assets.
- Lead implementation of lifecycle asset management processes, integrating planning, programming, budgeting, and performance evaluation.
- Skilled in performance management, staff development, and succession planning.
- Competency in utility operations, infrastructure engineering, and system reliability management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; minimum 8 years’ experience in the field of practice.
- Minimum 8 years of management experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" clearance.
- Management experience in infrastructure and maintenance management.
- Experience working with labor unions including contract negotiations.
- Experience in the application of KPIs in the monitoring of organizational health.

- The target pay range is $171,530 – $248,949 annually. The full pay range is $127,596 - $331,752.
- TDP:
This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre‑employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
