This is a skilled position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment used in construction, aggregate production, and/or materials handling operations. This position supports daily production goals by maintaining equipment performance, following safety protocols, and ensuring high-quality results in a team-oriented environment.
Position will be located in Rexburg and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and other machinery as assigned.
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
- Monitor equipment performance and make operational adjustments to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
- Load, transport, and stockpile materials according to production requirements.
Assist with site preparation, grading, and material handling tasks. - Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs; report major issues to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production and project goals.
- Complete required daily logs, inspection reports, and production records.

Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Work Requirements- 1-3 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
- Experience in construction, aggregates, or related industries is a plus.
- Working knowledge of equipment safety practices and procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL may be preferred depending on role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
