* assessments for entry level applicants who are interested in potential employment for jail detention officers. Jail assessments are given in the english language. Assessments give applicants an opportunity to demonstrate ability to perform essential job functions that include, but are not limited to;
* follow oral instructions, read, reading comprehension, memory retention, basic math, and directions. All assessment materials are provided for each session however, the sheriff does not provide study materials to prepare for the assessment. The sheriff will consider applicants who demonstrate their ability to perform essential job functions by correctly answering at least 60% of the written assessment questions. Qualifying applicants may be scheduled to participate in the respective physical assessment(s) at a designated date and time.

The jail physical assessment gives applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to successfully complete the idaho p.o.s.t. Physical assessment. For your consideration, the idaho p.o.s.t. Physical assessment is comprised of a battery of five events:

* vertical jump = or > 14.0 inches 3 minutes
* once minute sit-ups = or > 15 sit-ups 5 minutes
* maximum push-ups = or > 21 push-ups 10 minutes
* 300-meter run = or < 77 seconds 15 minutes
* 1.5-mile run/walk = or < 17:17 minutes complete A physician's signed medical waiver for a temporary medical condition may be considered, and may postpone, but not permanently excuse an applicant's participation in a physical assessment.
* essential job functions listed in job description and addendum Interested applicants must submit a current application online, copy of diploma or transcript or ged, and, if applicable, dd-214 form. All eligible applicants will receive an e-mail detailing the date(s), time(s) and location of jail detention officer assessments. It will be the applicants' responsibility to contact the testing proctor(s) and schedule their assessment.

Assessment seating may be limited and it is recommended applicants respond quickly to reserve their position for the assessment.

Note:

applicants who have used marijuana, in any form, within the one (1) year of the assessment date, will not be eligible for consideration for a position with the bonneville county sheriff's office. For questions, contact: lt. Mike huston 3 or sgt.
