Job Summary and QualificationsAs an Imaging Student Extern, you will build valuable hands‑on experience by learning from experienced team members who are committed to your growth. You’ll be a valued, respected part of the team, contributing insights and helping deliver care that keeps patients comfortable and confident throughout their imaging experience.
- Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning while communicating clearly and compassionately.
- Safely transport patients between areas, supporting their comfort and emotional needs during procedures.
- Set up imaging rooms, manage turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
- Serve as a vital connection between patients, technologists, and the care team by communicating needs and concerns promptly.
- Take ownership of your growth by participating in learning opportunities and following safety and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications you will need:
- Student from an approved school of Radiologic Technology or receiving student training on the job under direct supervision of a certified technologist.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full‑service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, and parts of Montana. Our facility offers an ER, a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU, and the only Burn Center in Idaho. We also provide a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a 74‑bed Behavioral Health Center.
