Position: RN Step Down ICU New to Specialty

Hourly Wage Estimate: $29.50 - $44.25 / hour

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Provide care for the patient in collaboration with the patient/family, with regard to developmental, cultural and age specific differences, developing and implementing patient care plans to include problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding the patient’s clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Service and Pastoral care to support families and provide emotional and end-of-life resources, facilitating a dignified end.
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Qualifications
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
  • One or more years of higher acuity (hospital) RN experience required.
