The NQA-1 Lead Auditor / Oversight Specialist will support the DOE, Idaho Cleanup Project (DOE-ICP), and reports to the Director of Federal Services. This position is 100% on-site. Street Legal is currently seeking an NQA-1 Lead Auditor / Oversight Specialist to join our project in Idaho Falls, .
Responsibilities- Leading and performing audits in accordance with ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.
- Day-to-day tasks include planning audit scopes, preparing audit plans and checklists, conducting audits of internal processes and suppliers, and documenting objective evidence of compliance and nonconformance.
- Writing clear audit reports, tracking corrective and preventive actions, verifying their implementation and effectiveness, and coordinating follow-up audits as needed.
- Collaborates with quality, engineering, and operations teams to improve processes, support training on quality requirements, and help maintain certifications and regulatory compliance. This role requires proactive engagement with stakeholders, adherence to strict documentation standards, and consistent application of NQA-1 principles across all audited activities.
- Strong knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements and experience leading quality assurance audits in regulated or nuclear-related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and report on process, system, and supplier audits, including development of audit plans and checklists.
- Proficiency in documenting findings, analyzing root causes, and supporting corrective and preventive action processes.
- Solid understanding of quality management systems, regulatory compliance practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present audit results to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in records and reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and maintain a professional, objective auditing approach.
- Experience working as a Lead Auditor in an oversight capacity.
- Relevant certification such as NQA-1 Lead Auditor or equivalent, or the ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in high-security or safety-conscious environments, with commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
- US Citizenship Required.
