The Pella Trade Sales Rep is a full-time, on-site role based in Eastern Idaho (Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Rexburg, etc), responsible for building and maintaining relationships with builders, contractors, and other trade professionals. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and managing a sales pipeline, conducting in-person sales calls, presenting product options and technical information, and preparing accurate quotes and proposals. The role involves coordinating with internal teams on order entry, delivery timelines, and installation considerations to ensure a smooth customer experience.
The Trade Sales Rep will regularly visit job sites, provide product education and support, and follow up on leads to drive revenue growth. This position also requires maintaining detailed records in CRM systems, monitoring market trends, and representing Pella at local industry events or trainings.
- Strong trade sales and account management skills, including experience selling building materials or construction-related products.
- Ability to develop new business through prospecting, networking, and maintaining long-term relationships with builders, contractors, and other trade partners.
- Solid product knowledge aptitude, with capacity to learn technical details of windows, doors, installation practices, and building codes.
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Organization and time-management skills to manage multiple projects, job sites, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and mobile tools to track activities, prepare quotes, and report on sales performance.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer locations and job sites as needed.
- Previous experience in construction, building trades, or window and door industry is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
