* Job Summary:

*** Brundage Mountain Patrol is responsible for providing professional emergency medical services, mountain rescue, hazard mitigation, and risk management in support of winter mountain operations. Patrollers serve a vital role in maintaining the safety of guests, employees, and resort infrastructure while delivering exceptional guest service in a dynamic outdoor environment.
** As members of a licensed EMS transport agency, Brundage Mountain Patrollers respond to medical emergencies, support mountain safety operations, perform avalanche hazard mitigation, maintain mountain infrastructure, and support daily resort operations. Patrollers are expected to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous training while operating in challenging weather, terrain, and emergency situations.

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

**
* ** Guest Safety & Mountain Operations**  + Promote a safe and enjoyable mountain experience through exceptional guest service, hazard recognition, and enforcement of the Skier Responsibility Code and resort policies.  + Perform daily mountain opening, closing, and operational procedures, including hazard mitigation, terrain inspections, and end-of-day sweeps.  + Identify, mark, maintain, and mitigate mountain hazards through the installation and maintenance of safety infrastructure.  

+ Support daily mountain operations, special events, and other operational projects as assigned.
* ** Emergency Response**  + Respond to medical emergencies and provide patient care appropriate to certification/licensure level.  + Safely transport injured or ill guests utilizing rescue toboggans, air medical support, or other approved rescue methods.  + Complete accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant patient documentation utilizing the department's electronic Patient Care Report (PCR) system.  + Maintain readiness of medical equipment, rescue gear, and patrol facilities.
* ** Mountain Rescue & Risk Management**  + Participate in lift evacuations, search and rescue operations, avalanche mitigation, snow safety, and other emergency response activities as trained and assigned.  + Operate snowmobiles, rescue equipment, radios, and other patrol resources safely and professionally.  + Monitor mountain conditions and communicate operational or safety concerns through the patrol chain of command.
* ** Teamwork & Professionalism**  + Work collaboratively within the patrol chain of command while supporting fellow patrollers, Hill Captains, and resort staff.  + Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, and effective communication in both routine and emergency operations.  + Assist other resort departments as operational needs require while representing Brundage Mountain in a positive and professional manner.
* ** Training & Professional Development**  + Successfully complete all required training, continuing education, and annual competency evaluations.  + Maintain required certifications, licensure, and operational proficiency while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.## Qualifications

* Job Qualifications:

*** EMT license preferred, Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) & Wilderness First Responder (WFR) accepted.
* or enrolled in EMT course or OEC candidate training program. Must successfully complete licensure or certification within 2 months as a condition of continued employment
* Wilderness First Responder certification considered, however must enroll and successfully complete EMT licensure within 2 months of employment
* EMT’s must become licensed in  employment
* BLS CPR for the professional rescuer
* Must be an advanced/expert level skier/snowboarder, capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions
* Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
* Ability to reason and deal with emergency situations performing under high stress
* Must use manual dexterity to operate equipment
* Must be able to lift, maneuver, carry at least 50 pounds on foot and carry on ski/riding equipment
* Must be able to ski/ride with the proficient and safe ability to run a toboggan downhill in varying snow conditions weight upwards of 250 lbs.
* Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions. Ability to hear & communicate over a two-way radio and with guest and/patients
* Must possess basic computer skills/knowledge
* Must have excellent guest service skills
* Must work well on a team
** Other Requirements:
*** First year patrollers must commit to an additional 3 weeks of pre-season training
* Must be at least 18 years of age upon employment
