Class B Fitter​/Welder

Job Title

The primary responsibilities include welding in accordance with ASME Code requirements; maintaining welding equipment, tools and supplies in safe working order; work effectively in a team-based environment while maintaining safety standards including proper utilization of all required PPE and following related safety procedures.

• Participate in pre and post planned readiness of parts and tools, for planned fit up and welding activities.
• If applicable, the job scope to encompass welding in the following process if directed by departmental supervisor (FCAW, GMAW).
• Complete understanding of ASME code requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine welding specifications.
• Read/interpret measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape).
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools and able to use various hand tools (POWERED AND MANUAL).
• Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed.

• Three years of manufacturing experience in fitting/welding and/or sub-arc related functions.
• Complete 3G/6G test.
• Gouging experience is a plus.

The work environment for this position does include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and working in confined space and elevated work spaces.

Must be able to stand 10 or more hours per day and operate a variety of hand tools both powered and manual. Position requires standing or walking throughout the workday and frequently involves stooping and kneeling. Must possess sufficient visual acuity and depth perception to complete job tasks. Must be able to tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with confined space entry and industrial boiler manufacturing and apply appropriate safety equipment when required.

Must be able to lift/maneuver 75lbs. unassisted using proper safety techniques and/or equipment.
