Summary:

The mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that providesequitableaccess to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.

IDOC has a vacancy for a full-time Correctional Case Manager. This position will work within the Division of Probation and Parole atthe District 7 office located in Idaho Falls,  position supports clients by conducting intake interviews, facilitating groups, administering assessments, and coordinating care with internal and external partners. Success requires knowledge of substance use treatment, experience in assessment and case management, strong computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours in correctional or probation/parole settings.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial intake interviews with clients and make collateral contacts to obtain background data and social information.
• Facilitation of group and coordination of care within IDOC and with external programs.
• Coordinate service authorizations with IDOC Central Office SUD team and assist in policy and program development.
• Participate with community groups and other public agencies in developing program needs and problem-solving techniques.
• If professionally qualified, administer screening/assessment and prepare reports within assigned deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:Your resume needs to clearly articulate how your skills, education and experience meet the qualifications below –

• Good knowledge of human service principles and practices to include behavioral management methods, rehabilitation and treatment programs, personality traits associated with criminal offenders, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained from completion of abachelor's degree or higher in the human services or criminal justice related field such as social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, correctional counseling, criminal justice, criminology, education, law and justice, alcohol and drug related studies, specialized fields like addictions or closely related field or gained from working as a certified Alcohol and Drug counselor with at least one year full time work experience performing related work or typically gained fromthree years of full-time work experience to include performing client assessments, case management, developing and implementing treatment plans, and/or monitoring client behaviors.
• Proficient in computer data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents. Typically gained by familiarity with Office 365, Outlook, or other like programs.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours (evening hours up to 10 p.m. and/or weekends) in a correctional facility and/or probation and parole district office providing program facilitation and case management services to individuals under IDOC jurisdiction.
