As an Office Specialist 2, you will be an important part of the team that keeps Priest Lake State Park running smoothly and provides visitors with a welcoming, high-quality experience. This position supports a broad range of administrative, financial, retail, and visitor service functions and plays a key role in the successful operation of the park store and other day-to-day park activities.
The position also supervises seasonal employees and/or volunteers, helping build and support a strong team through hiring, training, scheduling, work direction, and ongoing guidance. Working closely with park management, staff, visitors, vendors, and the public, the Office Specialist 2 helps ensure park operations are organized, responsive, and ready to meet the needs of a busy and dynamic recreation environment.

Administrative and Operational Support
- Provides office and administrative support for park operations using established IDPR and State of Idaho policies and procedures.
- Prepares, reviews, processes, and maintains correspondence, reports, forms, payroll entries, records, and other documents.
- Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures and corrects or follows up on errors and omissions.
- Maintains electronic and paper filing systems and enters, retrieves, and updates information using department computer systems.
- Communicates with park staff, vendors, local agencies, and the public to obtain or provide information necessary to complete assigned work.
Financial, Purchasing, and Retail Support
- Processes purchasing, revenue, and other financial documentation according to established department and state procedures.
- Receives and records park revenue and prepares related transmittals and records.
- Performs cashiering and retail sales duties, including collecting fees and maintaining sales and inventory records.
- Maintains store purchasing and ledger information and assists with obtaining merchandise for resale.
- Uses spreadsheets and other office software to enter, maintain, and retrieve financial and operational information.
Seasonal Staff and Volunteer Support
- Supervises seasonal employees and/or volunteers assigned to support park operations and visitor services.
- Assists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and evaluating seasonal employees.
- Assigns and directs daily work, monitors performance, provides feedback and guidance, and helps ensure assigned duties are completed in accordance with established expectations.
- Communicates and reinforces department policies and expectations related to workplace conduct, customer service, safety, appearance, and uniform requirements.
Visitor Services
- Provides accurate and courteous information to visitors and the public in person, by telephone, and through other communication methods.
- Responds to routine and non-routine questions regarding park services, facilities, reservations, fees, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Explains established department policies and procedures and assists visitors with resolving questions or concerns.
- Provides administrative and customer service support for park reservations, retail operations, programs, and activities.
