Position Summary

Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of mechanical and process piping projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical construction, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of managing project budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships.

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, including estimating support, procurement, contract administration, BIM/VDC coordination, cost control, scheduling, safety leadership, and customer satisfaction. Process piping experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical and process piping projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.
  • Lead project planning efforts, resource allocation, and risk management activities.
  • Prepare project proposals, estimates, and support preconstruction planning.
  • Direct and participate in BIM/VDC coordination and clash resolution processes.
  • Review drawings, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, and contract documents to ensure project requirements are understood and executed.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, fabrication teams, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement activities, including buyout of subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
  • Track labor productivity and implement strategies to improve project performance.
  • Monitor fabrication and installation progress to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Lead contract administration, documentation, and project reporting activities.
  • Manage change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and project correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Foster strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for future business development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing mechanical construction and/or process piping projects.

Experience Within a Mechanical Contractor Environment Strongly Preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process piping systems, and construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build productive client relationships.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
