Job Overview

Position: Dental Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: North Idaho Correctional Institution, Cottonwood,
Type: Part-Time (10 hours per week)
Salary: $19.00–$20.25 per hour depending on experience

• Assist the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting under direct supervision.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments.
• Prepare and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant.
• Idaho DA license or ability to obtain license.
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; must be obtained within the first year if not current.
• Certification and/or prior experience performing dental x‑rays preferred.
• Maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification.
• Obtain a security clearance (includes drug screen and criminal background check).
