Cabinets Northwest is a full-service cabinetry company serving residential and commercial clients throughout the Inland Northwest. We manage every phase of the process in-house, from design and manufacturing to staining, painting, and installation, which allows us to maintain consistent quality and control from start to finish. Our work spans kitchen renovations, new builds, and commercial projects, and we take pride in the craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail behind every piece we produce.
The RoleWe're hiring a full-time Cabinet Designer to work directly with clients on kitchen, bath, and other cabinetry projects. In this role, you'll meet with clients to understand their needs and preferences, then translate that into layouts, proposals, and quotes tailored to their space and budget. You'll guide clients through material, finish, and hardware selections, and coordinate closely with our production and installation teams to ensure each project stays on track.
This position also carries a sales component, including following up on leads and building long-term client relationships.
We work exclusively with Cabinet Vision, so proficiency with this software is required. Experience with CNC production is also required, as we're looking for someone who understands how a design translates into a finished, machine-cut part, not just how it appears on screen.
Key Responsibilities- Meeting one-on-one with clients to understand their vision and guide them through the design process
- Creating cabinet layouts, design proposals, and quotes in Cabinet Vision
- Taking field measurements on-site
- Helping clients choose materials, finishes, and hardware that fit their style and budget
- Putting together material lists and cut lists the shop can work from
- Coordinating with our production and install teams so what's drawn is what gets built
- Following up on leads and building relationships with clients over time
- Keeping project documentation organized from start to finish
- Proven experience with Cabinet Vision software
- Hands-on experience with CNC production processes
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for clients
- A strong eye for design and layout, particularly for kitchen and bath spaces
- Sales aptitude, including lead follow-up, closing, and relationship-building for repeat business
- Ability to read and interpret plans, measurements, and technical drawings
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in design, drafting, or a related field is a plus
- Valid driver's license for occasional site visits
- Experience across multiple phases of the cabinetry process, including design, assembly, and installation. Candidates with exposure to more than one stage tend to bring a stronger understanding of how design decisions affect production and installation.
- Background in interior design, kitchen and bath design, or millwork
- Familiarity with industry standards as they apply to cabinetry
- Compensation ranging from $25 to $38 per hour, depending on experience
- Six paid holidays annually:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas - Eligibility for a SIMPLE IRA through Edward Jones after one year of employment, with a 3% company match
- An additional five days of paid time off after two years of employment
- Room for professional growth within a well-established, in-house cabinetry operation
