Job Summary: Primary responsibility to Special Education Teacher and/or Classroom Teacher, Principal and/or Special Education Director. Assists the teacher in achieving the goals and objectives as stated on each child’s current Individual Education Plan (IEP) through individual, small group, or whole group instruction.

• Assist teachers in implementing IEP goals and instructional plans through various instructional formats (individual, small group, or whole group).
• Support students with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities to facilitate learning and engagement.
• Instruct students one-on-one and in small groups under the direction of the Special Education Teacher.
• Work well with students, staff, and the public; maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal/communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification or be able to obtain it.
• Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
• Selected applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

• Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and accumulated thirty-two college credits or be able to pass the Paraprofessional Praxis exam.
• Previous Aide or Teaching Experience Preferred
• The ability to work with students with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities.
• Ability to instruct students one-on-one and in small group settings, at the direction of the Special Education Teacher.
