Filer Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a full-time Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore historical events, cultural diversity, and civic responsibility while fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Foster critical thinking and discussion among students regarding historical events and current issues.
• Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success and address any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and social studies content.
• Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Social Studies for middle school education.
• Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum and educational standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
• Experience working with middle school students preferred.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance instruction.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
