Travel ASL Interpreter | Meridian, Idaho

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational programs in Meridian,  role involves travel to various school settings, providing critical communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and hearing individuals during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student learning and participation.
• Attend meetings, assessments, and extracurricular events as needed to provide interpreting services.
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards and codes of conduct.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or similar settings.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong expressive and receptive skills.
• Familiarity with classroom terminology and instructional methods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to travel regularly within the Meridian, n to assigned schools.
• Relevant certification or licensure as required.
