Summary
Filer Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 2nd Grade Teacher. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development, effective teaching strategies, and a passion for inspiring young learners.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular testing, assignments, and observations, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a love of learning by incorporating creative and hands-on activities into the curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and address the needs of all students.
- Maintain classroom management and discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
- Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting a positive classroom culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license for elementary education or the ability to obtain one.
- Previous experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the elementary level.
- Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Passion for working with children and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
