Job Summary
Filer Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our educational team as a 1st Grade Teacher. This full-time position is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and guiding young learners in their academic and social development. The successful candidate will create engaging lesson plans, utilize innovative teaching strategies, and build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes a love for learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various assessment tools, providing timely feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns that may arise.
- Organize and participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain a well‑organized classroom and manage student behavior effectively to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and best practices in elementary education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license for the state of Idaho.
- Previous experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- A genuine passion for educating and nurturing young children.
