Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Filer Elementary School as a librarian. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and learning among students while managing the library's resources and programs. This full-time position requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate with educators and staff to enhance the educational experience.

• Manage the daily operations of the school library, including circulation, cataloging, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement engaging library programs and activities that promote literacy and a love for reading.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom instruction.
• Provide instruction and guidance to students in research methods, information literacy, and digital citizenship.
• Curate and maintain a diverse collection of books, digital resources, and educational materials that reflect the interests and needs of students.
• Assist students in selecting appropriate reading materials and conducting research for projects.
• Organize and oversee library events, including book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges.
• Maintain a welcoming and safe library environment conducive to learning and exploration.
• Stay current with library trends, educational technology, and best practices in library services.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with other librarians and educators.

• Strong knowledge of children's literature, educational resources, and technology in a library setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents.
• Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience with library management systems and digital resources is preferred.
