Hourly rate: $37.01 - $38.17 per hour (pending experience and responsibilities)

About the Role

The School Based First Nations Education Liaison Officer will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous Education, advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students along with their families, communities, teachers, and the college.

Selection Criteria
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families, and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.

  • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Mandatory Requirements
  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and a valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
