9th -12th Grade Science Teacher

Position Overview

Orofino Junior Senior High School is seeking a qualified and dedicated 9th-12th Grade Science Teacher to teach Physical Science and Science Electives. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a rigorous learning environment that prepares students for post‑secondary success, whether in higher education or the workforce.

• Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).

  We welcome candidates pursuing Alternative Authorization paths to certification. If you have a strong science background and are eligible for an Idaho alternative route, we encourage you to apply.
• Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods.
• Strong background in curriculum and the Idaho Core Standards.
• Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Work well with students, staff, and the public.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work under deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
• Demonstrate consistent, daily attendance and punctuality; we believe student achievement is directly tied to the consistency of instruction and the stability of the classroom environment.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Schedule:
  
  Four‑day school week with periodic Friday work days – 174 contract days per school year.
