Lunch Duty/Recess Duty
To supervise students under teacher and/or principal direction. Assist in the maintenance of an orderly, safe, and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria and playground.
Supervise students in the cafeteria and playground.
Enforce all school rules.
Inform the assigned teacher and/or building principal of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
Seek assistance should emergencies arise.
Represent the school district in a positive manner.
Know and follow school district policy and chain of command.
Perform other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly stands or walks, and occasionally sits and talks. The employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly pushes items of 50 pounds such as children on a bike or in moving/rearranging furniture.
The employee may be required to perform duties outdoors in various types of weather, including inclement weather with temperatures at or below freezing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud at a standard acceptable level for this environment. When supervising students, the employee is responsible for their safety, well-being, and work output.
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the building principal in conformance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will". The "employment period" and other descriptions and terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right for the employee. These are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the district so long as the employment continues.
