Position Overview

Orofino Jr./Sr. High School is seeking a dependable, caring, and student-focused Academic Success Paraprofessional to support student learning and achievement. This position works closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to provide academic intervention, support students enrolled in online courses, and help ensure students stay on track for graduation.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate small-group instruction for students needing additional support in core academic classes.
  • Provide academic support for students retaking courses and participating in credit recovery.
  • Assist teachers with test corrections, reassessments, and other intervention opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with students while encouraging academic growth and success.
  • Serve as the OJSHS IDLA Site Coordinator.
  • Coordinate student enrollment, progress monitoring, and communication for students enrolled in IDLA courses.
  • Support students in successfully completing online coursework and credit recovery classes.
  • Collaborate with students, families, teachers, counselors, and IDLA staff to promote student success.
  • Participate in training related to IDLA coordination and online learning.
  • Provide classroom coverage during teacher absences as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student achievement.
  • Maintain appropriate records related to student interventions and IDLA.
  • Perform other student support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with youth is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and a commitment to helping students succeed.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.
