Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and families by joining the North Idaho College Head Start team. As an
Assistant Teacher in Post Falls, you'll help create anurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where everychild can grow, learn, and thrive. Working alongside the Classroom Teacher, you'll support a comprehensive early childhood program that reflects the Head Start mission and provides high-quality services to children and families.
In this role, you'll partner with the classroom team to plan and implement engaging learning experiences, foster a safe, healthy,organized, and welcoming classroom environment, and ensure activesupervision while supporting the developmental, social, andemotional needs of every child. You'll assist with childscreenings, assessments, documentation, and individualized goal setting, build positive relationships with children, families,coworkers, and community partners, and support children with disabilities and daily care routines, including feeding and toileting.
You'll also help maintain efficient center operations,participate in professional development, and step into the leadclassroom role when needed.

The ideal candidate has a positive approach to early childhood education, health, and family services,is comfortable using common computer applications and data systems,and demonstrates sound judgment, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making. Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Level I: A CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or astate-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead toan associate or baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDAcredential program to be completed within two years of the time ofhire.
Level II:
An Associate in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development OR an Associate degree in any other field
of study AND: A major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Experience:
Experience as a staff or volunteer in a preschool classroom.
Required License and/or Certifications- Register with Idaho STARS and participate in the professional development system.
- Maintain current Infant/child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
- Pass an enhanced background check including fingerprinting, as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements, prior to first day of work.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Positive approach to Early Childhood Development programs, health,and social services.
- Working knowledge of commonly used computer software programs including data collection systems.
- Demonstrate professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Represent the Head Start program in the community and with other professionals, positively and with professionalism.
Starting pay range: $17.51 - $18.54

Location:
Head Start - Post Falls
Work Schedule: up to 19.5 hrs/wk, August through June
