Exempt position, 1-sick day/month, 4-personal days annually. The District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as participation in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI).
The position is a temporary, grant-funded position and is contingent upon the availability and continuation of grant funding. Employment in this position is limited to the period for which grant funding is available and does not create an expectation, guarantee, or right to continued employment beyond the current grant funding period.
If grant funding is reduced, discontinued, not renewed, or otherwise becomes unavailable, the District reserves the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law and District policy, to modify, reduce, or eliminate the position and/or its associated hours, duties, compensation, or benefits.

The principal function of the Community School Coordinator classification is to coordinate, implement, and oversee services in the school as they relate to the four pillars of community schools (integrated student supports, expanded and enriched learning time and opportunities, active family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership and practices); have weekly contact with school staff; work with state program staff and other schools;
collaborate with area businesses and community members; and work toward systemic change within the school and community to develop school reform. The Community School Coordinator will be the key resource for data collection, reporting and documentation.
- High School diploma or GED equivalence required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; - Background and/or experience in community outreach and customer service preferred;
- Bi-lingual preferred.
- Different funding streams for youth and school initiatives;
- Issues and trends affecting youth (e.g. low expectations, attitudinal or environmental barriers, need for social integration);
- Tools and processes for working with community partners;
- Effective, positive interpersonal skills
- Working collaboratively within a team;
- Efficient time management skills;
- Privacy and confidentiality rights as they relate to youth;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Principles and procedures of data gathering, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
- Advocate for, motivate, recruit and engage youth and community partners;
- Work positively with groups, foster teamwork and develop leadership and fellowship among youth, families, and the community;
- Manage programs and budgets;
- Connect youth and families to community institutions, resources, and supportive adults including mentors and role models;
- Use computer technology to carry out duties and responsibilities;
- Build strong working relationships and collaborate among teachers, administrators, students and parents;
- Evaluate and adjust programs based on outcome measurement and data;
- Maintain office, school, and individual confidentiality.
- Coordinating, implementing and providing services and activities to students and their parents;
- Promotes the Idaho Community School mission through active engagement of the school and community;
- Provides outreach and develops relationships with families, civic organizations, local businesses and organizations;
- Attends Idaho Community School sponsored meetings and trainings, and provides feedback to school team and the school board;
- Collects and compiles data necessary for reporting of the Community School program;
- Gathers documentation of student progress and activities;
- Documents and reports outcomes of the Community School Program to the school and school board office;
- Supervise the grant budget, program activities and complies with all grant requirements;
- Works within the school team in development of program plans;
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures and safety practices.
