(One Year Position)Position Summary:This is a Full-Time position. The work year is a 10- month period, September through June 28, 2027. As a part of the superintendent's team, the superintendent or designee will be your immediate supervisor, provide day-to-day support and direction and assign a workspace in a district office; a school in the district in which you support in the district.
Location:Citywide, New Visions HS District, Superintendent Noah Angeles
Eligibility Requirements:New York City Public Schools licensed Attendance Teacher
Selection Criteria:- Ability to work with parents and chronically absent students
- Ability to conduct outreach visits to homes
- Ability to work with ATS, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to generate and use data to improve attendance in schools
- Ability to create attendance and intervention plans for chronically absent students
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct telephone outreach to home of absent students
- Make home visits as assigned in the 5 boroughs
- Document all outreach as assigned, complete all program paperwork as directed including ATS entries and ILOG
- Work collaboratively with school staff in identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students
- Work collaboratively with central staff and identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students
Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. inclusive of a half hour lunch
