Environmental Compliance Specialist – Nights (Idaho Falls)

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) site in Scoville,  specialist will spend 90% of the time in the field overseeing subcontractors to ensure site‑specific SFHP environmental procedures are implemented during construction activities.

• Naval Reactors Facility, Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho Falls,  
• Night shift: 1600hrs to 0200hrs, year‑round
• Must be in vicinity of Idaho Falls

• Perform environmental inspections, audits, and field oversight of construction activities.
• Identify, report, and correct deficiencies to maintain compliance with SFHP procedures.
• Oversee spill response, wildlife observations, secondary containment, equipment leak inspection, and waste‑stream management.
• Respond to emergent environmental issues during construction.
• Prepare or review project‑specific environmental plans and procedures.
• Support the Environmental Compliance Manager, Waste Management Coordinator, and Chemical Management Coordinator.

• Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
• Lift up to 20lbs, carry supplies up to 50ft.
• Operate near construction equipment, handle uneven ground, and exhibit vigilance against dust, gas, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures, or potential heights.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and citizenship required.
• Effective communication and teamwork required.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Degree in environmental science or technical discipline preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a construction setting.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe.
• Technical writing skills preferred.
• Driver’s license and U.S. citizenship required.

$60,000 – $80,000 (subject to change based on experience, market data, and other factors).
