The Reality Capture Technician supports field data collection efforts by assisting with laser scanning, UAV operations, GPR, and related technologies under supervision. This role focuses on safe field execution, proper equipment handling, and accurate documentation while developing foundational technical skills.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- One (1) year experience using GPR
- Basic familiarity with construction environments and project site safety
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and field safety protocols
- Willingness to work in active construction environments and travel to project sites
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn RC software tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately
- Follows data collection process fundamentals and adheres to departmental standards
- Assists in setup and operation of laser scanners (mobile and terrestrial), UAVs, robotic total stations, 360 cameras, and GPR equipment
- Demonstrates proper care and maintenance of equipment
- Maintains field books, logs, and photo documentation in an organized manner
- Assists in the processing of point clouds, registering scans, and preparing basic deliverables
- Demonstrates basic proficiency with CAD and point cloud software
- Utilizes basic functions of Reality Capture software used in laser scanning, UAV flight planning, total station data collection, CAD/BIM, and GPR grid scans
- Assists senior team members with producing standard deliverables such as registered point clouds, floor flatness, wall deviation studies, orthomosaics, and concrete slab analysis using GPR

The base salary range for this position is $26.44 - $36.54 per hour. DAVIS offers a comprehensive benefits package including employer‑paid health care, life insurance, disability benefits, a contribution to an HSA, annual incentive bonuses, paid time off, 401(k) with Roth options, ESOP, FSAs, fertility and family‑forming assistance, and continuing education. Eligible employees may receive a company vehicle or an auto allowance.
