Environmental Compliance Specialist – Nights – Idaho Falls
Amentum is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) site in Scoville, role ensures that site‑specific SFHP environmental procedures are implemented during construction activities through oversight of subcontractors and field inspections.
Responsibilities include performing environmental inspections, audits, and field oversight of construction activities; overseeing spill response; responding to wildlife observations; ensuring secondary containment; inspecting construction equipment for leaks; coaching craft on environmental compliance; managing waste streams; responding to emergent environmental issues; preparing and reviewing project‑specific environmental plans and procedures; and supporting the Environmental Compliance Manager, Waste Management Coordinator, and Chemical Management Coordinator.
The position is approximately 55 miles WNW of Idaho Falls, , at the Naval Reactors Facility, Idaho National Lab.
Requirements- A degree in environmental science or a related technical discipline is preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum one year of experience in a construction setting.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Valid driver’s license.
- USA citizenship.
Technical writing skills; proximity to Idaho Falls; ability to work night shifts (1600h to 0200h, year‑round).
Essential FunctionsIntermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 20 lbs. in supplies. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Alerts to construction equipment, occasional work near hazardous equipment, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
Other Essential FunctionsMust be U.S. citizenship; valid driver’s license; teamwork and effective communication; professional behavior; appropriate grooming and dress; pre‑employment drug, background check, and site security badge screening.
Compensation$60,000 - $80,000
